Pinking the World: Rising Star Kimberley Talks Music & Fame

Under the Radar (UTR): Kimberley, with three hit singles already under your belt, the music world is eagerly awaiting your debut album. How are you feeling about the release of "Pink Me"?

Kimberley Taylor (KT): It's honestly a whirlwind of excitement! I've poured my heart and soul into this album, and I can't wait for everyone to hear it. "Pink Me" is a collection of my dreams, my experiences, and it's like sharing a part of myself with the world. I'm nervous, but mostly, I'm thrilled.

UTR Kimberley, you've rocketed to stardom quicker than we can say 'synthesizer.' How are you handling the sudden fame?

KT: Oh, it's like a rollercoaster, but instead of screaming, I'm singing... at the top of my lungs... in pink sequins! I mean, one minute I'm doodling hearts in my diary, the next I'm autographing them for fans. It's totally gnarly!

UTR: With your "Under a Pink Sky" tour about to launch, what's the vibe you're going for?

KT: Imagine if a unicorn and a disco ball had a baby, and that baby just loves to dance. It's gonna be that, but with more pink. And maybe some inflatable flamingos. Because, why not?

UTR: You're practically juggling high school and pop stardom. How's that mixtape of life playing out?

KT: It's like, I have homework in one hand and mic checks in the other. I tried doing algebra on a tour bus once – bad idea. Let's just say my tutor wasn't ready for a conga line!

UTR: Any unexpected quirks of being famous?

KT: I tried to go incognito at the arcade last week. Big mistake! My disguise was a pink wig. I know, right? Not my brightest moment. I mean, I might as well have worn a neon sign that said, ‘It’s me, Kimberley!’

UTR: All your songs are about love. Is there a mystery Mr. Pink in your life?

KT:  (laughs) Oh, the only Mister in my life is Mister Whiskers, my cat. He's a tough crowd, always judging my outfits. But, no human Mr. Pink yet – unless you count the cardboard cutout of Jon Bon Jovi I have in my room. He's pretty quiet, though.
